View Full Version : Enom domain problem
unameit 02-03-2005, 07:15 AM A year ago we registered a domain through enom but we found this domain dissapeared from our management when we are about to renew it. Anyone having the same problem with enom reseller account?
Whois still says enom as the registrar but it did not mention registration provided by us but by enom?
We contacted enom but they say there is nothing they can do .....
Enom doesn't keep transaction logs more than 6 months old, considering domain is renewed per year. You have the transaction number but you can't check with enom since they don't keep the record. In my situation, you just simply "lost" the domain. Anyone know a good domain reseller?
eSology 02-03-2005, 07:29 AM Since you don't have anymore do you mind posting the domain name? Maybe somebody can look at the whois history and dates to see what happened. Are you sure it didn't drop and somebody else registered it?
unameit 02-03-2005, 07:36 AM No it wasn't dropped or registered by anyone, it still has our name in the whois. That domain still belong to us, we just can't find them or renew them in the control panel.
fattee77 02-03-2005, 08:01 AM If it's not locked just transfer to another reseller account.
unameit 02-03-2005, 08:06 AM But that domain already expired, Jan 31 2005 :(
mdadnan 02-03-2005, 08:15 AM Do you have any receipts of transfer or registration through Enom? Basically you need to provide enough evidence for Enom to look deeply into the situation. Do you remember unlocking the domain or if it was unlocked already? Check your spambox or Junk mail folder maybe you missed transfer request of the domain.
Looks like domain hijack issue to me.
fattee77 02-03-2005, 08:46 AM If you can't see it in your regular controlpanel, maybe it's in the expired section: http://www.enom.com/domains/DomainManager.asp?tab=expireddomains

Bingo. If it still has your whois info and it isn't in your "main" control panel look under my domains, expired. I'll bet it is there. If it is the lesson here is a) you'll be able to renew the domain at your standard price and not something over inflated like other places and b) auto-renew function serves it's purpose for domains you want to keep.
oclick 02-03-2005, 11:41 AM Create a support ticket with eNom ... takes 24 hours to get a reply, in most cases, but they will be able to give you better details.
unameit 02-03-2005, 12:18 PM Yes, we do have the receipts and transaction number. We contacted enom, they say contact the company that we get the reseller account from. We contacted them, they say contact enom.
So right now, we are being pushed around.
fattee77 02-03-2005, 12:28 PM Did you try what I adviced you?
unameit 02-03-2005, 12:41 PM Yes, I did, it is not in expired domain. I used the "go directly to domain" in the bottom, it's no use. It says "The domain does not belong to this account".
2nd email from enom basically says "No we can't help you, you can prevent this from happening if you keep the domain locked and renew before it expired".
We have an account with OnlineNIC and this never happened. I thought enom would be better since they have a better api and all, I guess they are not.
unameit 02-03-2005, 12:47 PM mdadnan: even if I missed the transfer email, it shouldn't get transfer since we did not authorize it.
Yea, lesson learnt, dont ever get a reseller account from another reseller. You get pushed around because they dont want to take responsibility for the mess. (no offense acts837)
mdadnan 02-03-2005, 04:55 PM I know you didn't authorize it but then you can still show it to Enom claiming that you are not the one asking for transfer. You need to find as many evidences as possible that the domain was wrongfully transferred.
The problem here is domain transfer occured so long ago the credibility believing anyone is low. I am not saying that you are lying but if there are no receipts, no copies of transfer requests, no transfer history; you need at least something to start with.
unameit 02-04-2005, 04:09 AM Who said I don't have the receipts. I do have the receipts, the transaction number and all but since enom doesn't keep record longer than 6 months, checking the reciepts and transaction number in enom report menu doesn't help.
mdadnan 02-04-2005, 06:00 AM In this case only current registrar can help you in resolving this issue. Contact them and let them know exactly what may have happened and also report this case as false whois record of the domain.
