It looks like NFS is started. I do not use NFS, but I am afraid maybe the RAQ uses it for some low level operation.

Does anyone know if it is needed? Can I turn it off?

I could write a book about how much I don't know regarding NFS, but the pages but would blank....

Thank you,

NFS - Network File System

Unless you have multiple servers sharing files between each other this is not needed and should be turned off, specially if it is connected to the internet. It's main function is for use in LAN's or Clustering.

Isn't this odd, that it would be turned on by default?

thanks for your advice!

A default server installation of the OS normally has this checked as on.

Glad I could help :)
