I Think it would be cool if an enhancement were made on the related offers and requests, and every other non-hosting offers and requests forum.

The idea would require a bit of work, but it would make for a great feature in those forums.

here's the idea...

1) Make a custom posting field that specifies if it's an offer, or request
2) Make a way for users to quickly display only offers, or requests
3) Make a way for thread creators to close their offer threads, if the job has been filled. At which point, the thread would be removed from the listing that everyone but that thread author sees
4) Make a system for users to reopen their offer threads, if the person who picked up on the job didn't finish the task.
5) Add a field into the original template table that would display the thread type: offer, or request. But, only display this value when suggestion number 2 isn't in effect.


Again, it would take alot of work. But, it would make for an awesome enhancement on the board. Perhaps it could make it's way into a seperate feature like the host quote utility. Maybe the inet people could profit off it by only offering access to job listings to subscribers.

Maybe something to talk about after we graduate to vb3. But, there's not going to be much done until then.

ANy timeline for upgrading to vb3?

Any chance we could see if there will be a new skin or do you know if this will be ported?

I love the current skin, very user friendly.

I'd agree with above ideas, very creative & helpful.

I'm sure the current current skin will be kept and ported as it's quite new and recent to my knowledge, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, I do like the idea, it could be very beneficial, but a lot of work :P

Well we already have seperate forums for that kind of thing.

but Dedicated and colo are the same. It's hard to go through every thread to see if they offer colo.

You may consider it an upgrade. Many of us consider it an eyesore. :stickout:

You guys keep saying, "maybe when we upgrade to vB3," well I think it's time you get on that prohacker and tell him to upgrade WHT. We're giving you suggestions, and you continue to put all of them on hold - it's becoming quite an annoyance, if you ask me.

Its not as easy as it sounds, you cant just download vB 3.0.6 and upgrade, all the hacks have to be working on vB 3 before any move will happen, Secondly the skin would need to be ported. And lets remeber Prohacker has to keep all the other iNet sites running!
