I made the mistake of hosting three of my sites with webhost xl (yes i know NOW!) i've now been informed that they are no longer renewing accounts, one of my accounts expires on the 7th of this month, i'm more than happy to move to another hosting company, but i understand i need to access the dns/nameservers to change them to the one of the new company.. have i got that right?

does anyone know how i do this with webhost xl? as i have had no reply to my numerous emails and tickets over the last few months.

I hope someone can help, i really don't want to lose this site.. or any of the three i have with them!

Check out under which registrar did your host register your domain under. Contact the registrar, explain your situation, try to get the domain username and password, from there you can change to a new DNS.

so they registred your domains .. first check who own the domain names.

check with something like http://www.betterwhois.com

if your email is listed as owner/admin and domain status NOT locked then simply goto to any domain registrar like godaddy.com, enom.com, .... and initiate the transfer

a confirmation will be sent to your mail box to confirm the transfer.

few days later and you will be able to control the domain and will be able to change its DNS easly.

ok i tried that, all the domains are registered to me, but when i do a lookup on the one due for renewal, it says the registrar is enom, but when i go to enom.com and try to initiate transfer it tells me 'domain name not found'

where do i go from here?

Any Enom reseller that can help him? I think it should be registered under an Enom reseller account. U may like to email Enom on your problem.

Me too, cant find anything much except for
http://www.enom.com/help/abusepolicy.asp

Maybe you can complain about the current host who refuse to renew for you.

its not so much they're refusing to renew.. they're going out of business.. they TOLD me to transfer to another host.. only problem is they wont talk to me to tell me how.

I've found an info@enom.com email address anyway so i'll try that, see if they can at least refer me to the correct people.

Thankyou for your help its much appreciated :)

BTW ensure your domains are unlocked by Enom, or there will be prob transferring.
