I am seeking very competitve hosting services that provide private-labeling, reseller webspace, and offer 24-hour tech support.

I have one question, I have seen companies selling hosting @ $13.95 per month with 500mb of space, unlimited pop accounts, unlimited hits to your site, and enable almost all script languages. Is this offer misleading or is their some sort of a catch? I have example sites if needed. Thanks...

I thought that did sound a little misleading referring to my last post. I just thought I might check it out first though. Thanks...

I currently use http://www.gemstream.com

They have issues, like every host, but were the ones I settled with after 3 months of researching hosts. They offer virtual nameservers, although they can be traced back to their parent host, Alabanza (http://www.alabanza.com). This isn't a problem to me, and can only be found on some of the better whois lookups.

Tech support is business hours thorugh the week only though. If you have a problem on the weekend, you are usually screwed until Monday morning.

Im with MCHost right now and support and service has been great.

I have also read through the notorious thread regarding the allegations that MCHost caused harm to SplashHosts servers, the same that sqposter mentioned. So you might want to wait and see what actually took place regarding the SplashHost and MCHost incident.

Also, sqposter...

Your comment about ethics or lack of security...

I will state on SplashHosts defense that I believe the security in question was caused by a reseller who had a demo account setup for cpanel and did not disable CGI thus allowing somebody to cause very high server loads on the machine. This can be caused on ANY reseller account on either MCHost or SplashHost or ANY other host that allows you access to WHM to setup accounts for your clients. Therefore I would not question the security of SplashHost... it's just not possible for a host similar to MCHost or SplashHost to catch those things until the damage has been done, and there is really no way to avoid that except not allowing your clients access to make demo accounts.

In my perception, no matter which way I look at the issue, it's an ethics problem or a security problem.

Also with the control panels that are out thier, throttle control of the CPU is avalible ( for entire server or account). so i cannot understand why the server would have crashed. if it was locked down properly.

I could go on about this for a week but I think that they, themselves have done enough damage.
