Send them a cease and desist letter, and contact their host with copies of the letter, links to your site and theirs and links to archives of both if they are available. See if any of the registration info is valid, and contact them by mail too. I don't know if there's an equivalent for certified mail overseas, but if there is, you might want to go that route, just so you have verifiable proof they received notice to cease.

If you give you images a specific name! people who rip often don't rename images!

The site is regsitered in Hungary. A site located on a server in Russia stole some of my content but there is not much I can do except ask them to cease and desist. You are in luck as a dig at webhosting.info shows that they are on an IP at The Planet.

usually an email threat is enough for the user to take the site down. Personally i would complain to the planet directly, rather than the web host!

All of them will ask you to verify you attempted to resolve this directly with the offending company before bringing the issue to them. Keep this in mind, and save all the correspondences you send to them and note their avoidance of them.

i agree with the Cease and Desist Letter. Here are a couple of samples for you just in case. Hopefully this will make it easier for you. You might also want to state in the letter (to the person and cc'd to their host) that if no action will be taken within so many days you will be forwarding a copy of the letter to the host's data center.

ewdi,

Another way you might want to go about this is, get one of your lawyer friends to send a formal letter on their letterhead. Usually this is enough for someone to take the site offline immediately because of the implications of legal action.

Cheers,
Josh

Their slow but they've help 4 sites who have ripped my site chnage their design.

I usually catch rips through tips through email suprisingly. Or just looking at referrals sometimes they accidentily forget to change a link and the referral logs catch it.

I think your best bet is a cease and desist letter to them, but it looks like they're in eastern europe or russia, so good luck in getting it to them :/
Hopefully the hoster will remove it.
