I'm looking for an affordable reselling solution to offer my customers a POP3 service hosted on someone else's server. I plan on having a large customer base, so I'm looking for somethign which is either designed to be POP3 reseller plan, or something that has unlimited POP3 accounts included. If it's something with unlimited POP3 accounts, I want a plan where the service provider wouldn't cut me off for having several thousand POP3 accounts set up.

I foolishly promoted our company in the main forum because I didn't read the rules properly. Matt quite rightly banned my host's name from WHT for 90 days. Certainly a hard lesson to learn. :(

By the way, unlimited pop3 accounts doesn't mean that you can set up your own mail service on our network. Anyone caught doing so will have their account removed.

A corporate site is welcome to set up as many mailboxes as it needs and in my experience that is rarely more than 100. That email service is a virtal part of their business. That is different from email accounts actually being your business.

Those are the rules and I think the term unlimited is ok to use in this case. I am personally against all the other unlimited styles of hosting (transfer, diskspace etc).

Ok.. good thing I mentioned the part about being able to have thousands of mail boxes without annoying my host. I figured there can't be such thing as truly "unlimited" mail accounts, so I'm looking for the next best thing.

What the hell does "unlimited" mean then? Why don't you stop using that word.

Is it because there is no such thing as unlimited and is it because you plan on most users using only a few POP accounts? If so, don't use unlimited or define what it means (how much/many) in your world so your users know.

Any client can create unlimited mailboxes within their account. They are not allowed to use our mail service to set up their own email business.

Quite frankly, your tone is offensive and rude. Just because your pet peeve is the word "unlimited" does not mean it applies to our service.

It is people like you who are actually bringing the industry down, who will say on the site unlimited and then if someone actually wants to use it, then make up your own terms as you go on.

I am not selling any hosting and I am not in your industry! I was/am actually looking for a plan and I also want to start an email service but if I signed-up with you based on what you have on your site (unlimited emails) then you would come and tell me later what your unlimited means? You are saying that is ok?

Until you keep saying that on your site and then penalize people who use the unlimited option or tell them later once they sign-up, what is acceptable (corporate only) and what is not, you are misleading.

people cant use unlimited emails. people use either 100, 1 billion, 1 trillion, but not unlimited. hotmail dont have unlimited accounts. lol. Its impossible t o give people unlimited anything.emails in this case use up all the space! as you know unlimted space (hard drives) is impossible, then emails are impossible too! But anyways who wants to use more than 100 emails? Like you would really use 10,000 emails! LOL. Yea right!

Yeah.. actually I could use 10,000. I mentioned "several thousand" in my first post. The reason I posted this in the reseller forum is because I will not be using these addresses myself; I will be providing them as a value-added service to my hosting clients.

I Dont think you will find to many resellers or even shared hosting offering you the chance to host other peoples emails on there boxs/ dedicated servers!

First of all it is to to risky... Due to spammers and other people who like to use and abuse servers.

Second it will take alot of bandwidth if you consider using 10 000 or so emails..

My advice is get your own server and make sure you got plenty of bandwidth with it and a good knowledge of *nix/Linux to keep you in business after your first SPAM attack script hits your site...
