Good that works for you, but

a) this is the programming forum
b) Dreamweaver is currently about $400 US, not 100 as you state
c) please don't promote piracy here ("you can also get this from a p2p if you wish....")

I'm guessing if you got it for $100 then it was a pirated verison or just a copy of his version.

Also you arn't comparing likes. Dreamweaver and Fireworks are web design tools where are smartftp is an ftp client.........?

in reply to jonay dreamweaver is a client....its not a layout tool....flash makes movies and other stuff but can make layouts...dreamweaver is like ftp only better layout and alot easyer to do...like it gives you easyr coding and stuff like that...you might want to take a look at getting the trial version that i belive they have....look it up at google

Dreamweaver are web design tools not a ftp client... What you are saying anything that uploads to the internet is a ftp tool. IE FrontPage ect

He is referring to the built-in FTP functionality in Dreamweaver. I can't remember if Dreamweaver has Live Editing or not, but if it does, that's most likely what he means.

Its not live editing just you can preview it on the web if u click f something.

well basically unlike ftp you are viewing you webpage while your editing it...instead of putting in files hoping it turns out right

What does that mean?

I can't comment on DreamWeaver, since I've never used it. I use notepad (actually another text editor), view in a browser locally (actually several browsers), and use an ftp program. If you need to view something like a PHP page, then you can set that up locally too (not something I've done though).

littleWebNooby: if you are still wokring on your site then why not just setup your own php software on your computer? Also its not live editing you have to click the update button...
