I was just wondering what some of you web designers and web hosts pay for referrals.

Do you give a flat rate for every web design project that is referred to you? Or, do you give a percentage? Or, do give some other perk?

I'm currently working with some people that are continually referring customers to me and I just wanted to figure out a fair compensation for their time.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you,

David Delisle

Well as far a web hosting goes, and if they are a current customer I give them a free month of hosting.

Anything in % is fair...
no flat fees per customer or anything alike... my opinion anyway..

For web hosting this is what i do

1 customer refered = the plan the refered bought
2 customers refered = double the plan bought
3 customers refered = 25% money and 1 month free of lowest hosting
4 customers refered = 50% money on the two highest paying customers
5 customers refered = 75% money on 2 lowest paying customer

And basiclly thats it 1-5 and then it just repeats say they get 6 they get the 1 and the 5. Thats my program.
