Ok I got my act together and I have set up my own webhosting site for friends now this is what i want to do.

I have a dynamic ip adress so i signed up with dyndns.com.
Well now my host name is
skeletal29.homelinux.com (i picked this).I used this company because my router has a feature that would update my ip when it changed on their (servers). Now the thing is I want to have my own www.

I want to have sub domain(is that wat they call it)
ex:

user.mywebsite.com

ill be using url forwarding, well i want to use that because i dont wanna change my ip everytime.

I can use

http://www.dnsart.com/Home/

but i am not totally sure that will do it for me...can some one check it over for me? They require me to run a program that would act as heart beat software to let their servers know what my ip adress is.

Your web server doesn't need a host name or alias of "www" to host web pages. But if you want one, then dyndns is doing your DNS. You should ask them how you would set that up to resolve to your web server's IP address.

They can probably answer your questions about adding additional host names as well.

Good luck.
