I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum to ask my question, but here we go anyway: I cannot go to godaddy.com or www.godaddy.com either, each time I type in the address, I get a 'This page cannot be displayed' message. I suspect it has something to do with my browser settings because everyone else has no problems in accessing their site. I remember having success reaching their site only once in my countless attempts. So if anyone can provide me with answers/suggestions/anything at all, please post. Need any info about my browser, just ask.
Thank you.
Okay, what browser do you use?
The site works fine in IE5.5.

I use IE5.01 with a 40-bit connection security.
I'm running this one in 'standard' mode - if there is such a thing - with security set to medium.

My security is set to medium too.. I really wish I could find out what's wrong.
Are you sitting behind a personal firewall?

I don't know. How can I find out?
If you're sitting at home with a broadband type connection, you SHOULD have a personal firewall running - something like ZoneAlarm perhaps. You may want to check those settings.
If you're at work, you most likely do have a firewall running - consult the system admin for some help there, as he/she may be restricting access.

Um, I'm at home using a modem.
I'm at home now with IE6, and godaddy still works fine with the regular settings.
The only thing I can think of trying at this stage is to clear your cache - I say this as godaddy may use some cookies and perhaps yours has been corrupted.
Just at that site now after typing in godaddy.com and I notice the url bar is showing a whole heap of stuff:
http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/default.asp?e=com&&location=www%2Ewebhostingtalk%2Ecom%2Fshowthread%2Ephp
I'm not that technical, but give the cache clean-out a try.

Hi!
It seems that your problem has to do with either your computer or your ISP.
I have encountered this sort of problem before and my ISP had a bad DNS cache. I knew it because I have two different dial up accounts. It works on one ISP but not on the other.
It is good to use Alert Site (http://www.alertsite.com/) to check if the site is really down or it is just your ISP. Besides you can compare your website with other famous sites and do other stuffs like whois, traceroute and ping.
If it is your ISP, you can contact them and tell them about it.
If it is not your ISP, then it must be your PC. Try to delete offline files, clear the cache/history, restart and then check the site again. Sometimes it just go off after 30 minutes! I dunno why.
I hope this helps.
:)
