Well I am a big Nascar fan and last night I went to view some of the videos like I always did last year for free.
Well you now have to pay to view these.
It seem Mr. Ted Turner is behind the whole ordeal.
What is your opinion about RealOne and the for pay service, $9.95 per month?
The Nascar fans are not happy with it.
Personally, I don't like this.
But from a business side - they'll make some money off it. People will pay it if they really want it.
Look at a lot of the adult sites, lets say you pay their monthly fee, then login to find that all their content is the same as 90 other sites out there... not that I have any experience in this  .... no.. really :D
People know this ... yet they still buy in them. If you sell it, someone, somewhere, will buy it.

I understand that, but for something that was free for the past few years this was a quick blow.
There are a lot of Nascar fans that are not happy with Nascar over this.
Their ticket prices are high enough as it is.
To bad that Nascar is not even the owner of the Nascar.com site any more. They sold the operating rights to Ted Turner.
You are right, if people want it bad enough, they will fork over the $$$
I am very close to it because I like the content.

ljprevo,
that really sucks.......I know how it feels......Always the fans get screwed, and not everyone can afford to fork out the cash.............
Did they give the fans of the website a warning or heads up?
If they just changed it over night w/out telling anyone, that would anger me also.
I've always appreciated companies that at least give like a 2 weeks heads up that things are going to change.

Whether you like it or not, eventually we all will have to pay for everything on the Internet and this will include good search results (just you wait). The free world died when NASDAQ crashed. In the real world only businesses that generate revenues to keep the business going, survive. The rest are gone or will go.
If you are saying that they gave it away so far and they should do so forever, that is absurd. Either they are going to close or you have to pay. Those are the only two options unless Ted Turner makes it a charity.
