I need to change hosts ASAP. I have 3 sites, all of which are built using ASP on top of Access databases. They are currently hosted on NT. Two of the sites do under 1 GB of traffic, but one does about 7 GB. The high-traffic site will also need an upgrade to a SQL Server DB soon.

I have two questions:

1. I expect one of my sites to grow to need dedicated hosting within the next 4 months...but I would like to sqeeze out a few more months of shared hosting prices while I still can. Can anyone recommend a host that offers BOTH shared and dedicated plans? Fast response on tech. support is critical.

2. Would there be a problem with hosting my sites (as described above) on a Linux OS? On the dedicated side, it looks like moving off of NT would save me a bundle.

1. I had a dedicated with CrystalTech some years ago and they are great. Support is amazing.

They do have good shared plans as well.


2. Yes. Access does not work at all on a *nix box, ASP runs but not very good. You will need to rewrite the site to PHP/MySQL to get something real out of an *nix nox.
