I know you can use the Copy Account function under WHM.

but i have only used that to copy account from one server to another.

now, i would like to copy the account from one account to another account.... IN THE SAME SERVER....

purpose of this is to minimize downtime.

assume there are 2 accounts, one is abc.com and the other is abc.net

for eg. if abc.com is down, i will transfer all files, settings and mysql db to abc.net.

then, i'll url redirect abc.com to abc.net.

hence, my question is, can i use the Copy Account function in WHM to copy one account to another WITHIN The same server?

In this situation I can only think of the Modify Account option - which lets you change the domain name associated with an account.

Won't both accounts be inaccessible, when the server is down, if they are on the same server? Perhaps I didn't understand the question

Well, it's impossible to redirect abc.com to abc.net, if abc.com is suspended, however, if you have access to WHM, you may add redirection code to abc.com/suspended.page/. When it comes to database it would be better to have it on another server.

By the way, isn't it against provider's rules to move suspended content on another account? Admin would simply suspend both accounts, so I think the best solution would be having accounts on two servers.
