View Full Version : Canadian Needs Shopping Cart/CC Processing

Hello Everyone,

I am new here, but heard that this is a helpful bunch! I am looking for an internet commerce solution for my website. I currently use Paypal for two separate shopping carts - US and Canadian funds, which works well. But I would like to open to the possibility of accepting credit cards without the Paypal go-between.

So, what I am ideally looking for is:

Non php shopping cart to retain SEO
Multiple currency functionality that does NOT involve currency conversion, but set prices in each currency
Canada Post integration
Credit card processing both over the Internet and by phone or mail order if necessary - must be able to process US and Canadian funds
I'd still like to include Paypal as a payment option as well

So, I'm not limiting myself to free solutions here, but neither do I have an extensive family fortune to call upon to have custom programming done ;). Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Welcome to the forums Playful Pixie!

You might also check out: http://www.digitallyjustified.com/merchant.php and then also take a look at osCommerce as well

Hi yugnuts,

In regards to the Canada Post integration - osCommerce, and I believe Zen-Cart do offer just that.

Keep in mind, that for Canada Post integration to work well, you'll need to setup an account with Canada post. Update your account with the box sizes you plan to use and also include weight + dimensions in your product fields so that accurate shipping rates may be obtained.

Hope that helps.

Which has a better Canada Post integration? I'm looking for one that allows me to "plop" in the tracking number onto the site and get all the shipping information.

Aside from DJT, who else is available?

either way you get a tracking number.
That tracking number can be sent to your customer, via updating Order comments...or some other method...

Customer 'plops' that into canada post web site, and voila...tracking information is displayed.

Hope that helps.
