If you're going to have a small customer base and keep things simple, I suggest propay.com.

I currently use them.

For resellers I suggest 2checkout.com

but if you want your own merchant account I suggest onlinedatacorp.com they are good and no problems from them yet, and include NT/Perl/Java scripts to intergrate it into your site.

Revecom sucked bigtime up to a couple of weeks ago. They were down 4-5 hours a day and support was slow. I was just about to move over to WorldPay.

But they did a major upgrade a few eeks ago and the service has improved vastly. No more runtime errors, no downtime, support on Chat, email fast. I'm a happy client once again. :)

If you would like to find the very best prices on payment gateways and virtual terminals I would advise you to check out this link http://www.greensheet.com/forums. All of the important merchant account providers belong to this site in some shape or form.

What about subscription services/recurring fees? Eg, My customer is automatically billed the 10th of every month, or each quarter, etc. Any recommendations for providers with low setup fees and reasonable transaction fees?

Total Merchant Services - Free Payment Gateway Software and Virtual Terminals http://www.totalmerchantservices.com I guest you cannot beat that other then their management is a pain.

All other merchant services charge you typical $79.00 to $129.00 reseller rights. Rates between 2.15% to 4.00% and transaction fees between 20 cents to 45 cents. I am telling you visit the GreenSheet Forums they have all of the answers you need including international.

I recommend 2checkout.com and paypal.com. Both have recurring payment systems.

Izaak, I just went to GreenSheetForum, registered, logged-in and was unable to post a question. Further, the previous questions were locked. Whatta matta?

Not currently. It is an option we are considering.

Well, I am a full ISP, and not a reseller, but for the ease of things, I can say that 2checkout.com is really good. I had regular merchant accounts before that sucked (Wells Fargo to name one).

2checkout.com does have a nice interface, but you have to do a multi part form to get the information that you need from your users about sites and whatnot before you send it to the payment gateway, they do not have the form customizable on the gateway for this type of thing (hint hint....)

Hi Node.
If you go to our website (main site, not Admin tools) an click on the "Membership Sites" link, you will see we offer a free, downloadable, script to help you with this task.

Hi,

I was planing to sign up with 2checkout, but they :
1) don't offer coupons
2) don't have offers (10 days free)
3) there is no way to change the recurrent billing amount in case a my clients wants to upgrade to a different plan.

But I like their chargeback policy.

Revecom will offer 1-3 but their chargeback policy is not as good as 2checkout.

Any advice?

Well, I am just a user as you may become, but here is what I have noticed:

1 and 2 - talk to them, I don't know - would be interesting though

3 - If you customer upgrades, remove them from the billing, and then hand code the card back in on the upgraded account price. This is how we do it if a customer upgrades like that. The only drawback is that you have to take the CC info from the customer and have it on file to be able to do this. Usually not a problem, just kinda a bit of a pain to secure that computer - we keep it unplugged from the net and locked down for all of our CC data.

Hope that this helps a little, I don't really know much on this, just what we do.

Tom, If you choose to do Euro & AUD you would need to upgrade your server for the influx of customers.

I took a look at 2checkout.com and they have an awful discount price. I'm not impressed

Of course Sharkman you wouldn't be biased????

Free Application, but $200 setup fee & $30/mth

Hmmmm, I think I'd be going with 2Checkout, over you, but by the time I got enough customers, I'd be getting my own merchant facilities.

I think world pay is slightly deerer but they allow users to change the currency in the actual gateway and is very easy for uk people to use

Does 2checkout have any deals that include low discount prices?

I use revecom.com - highly recommended and easy/cheap to setup :) I have had no problems and they caught all the fraud orders right away, good support also.

Done some simple math. For payments above $35.48 Revecom is cheaper. 2checkout is cheaper below this fee. But also take a look at the features.

2checkout is a great payment gateway but HostCHarge is become a nice solution too.

I would go with 2checkout for now though.
