3 letter .com seems to start around $750, there isn't much of a cap at the top end, have been some 6 figure sales recently for the non word ones, and keyword style ones have sold over a million before.

A good .biz? Is there such a thing?

As far as a three letter .com it all depends on of course letter combination. Art.com is extremely valuable, whereas xzx.com is much less desirable, and on the lowest end of the spectrum. A three letter .com consisting of a good letter combination, will be worth at very least four figures and could be worth up to six figures to the right end user.

I have sold several .biz in the mid xxx range. The general public is now realizing that keyword.biz info etc is much better than somewordkeywordanotherwordjustbecauseits.com A competitor of one of my sites which is .biz is spending thousands advertising its crappy.com on TV locally. My linkpop is in the thousands his less than 100.

Which means hes most likely deep in the red and I've been in the green from the start and spent $0 advertising dollars.

I don't think so, even though .com is the largest tld its growth rate is still around 10 times higher than .biz.

.biz? ha

I would maybe invest in VERY generic .biz names, other then that, I wouldn't even risk it. There are more and more gTLDs coming out providing more opportunity for niche markets, but .com will always remain king. There are thousands of short .com's expiring all the time and many are available, its just a matter of creativity and branding. You don't need a generic keyword to start a business, some of the most notable websites aren't generic keywords (see google, yahoo, ebay). Buying a .biz and trying to actually use it sounds like a lost cause unless you own the .com which people will inevitably go to on a significant scale.

Appraisals are worthless, and if you think a piece of software will tell you the value of a domain you're sadly mistaken.
