I was browsing around, and was just wondering because I noticed that greenlighthosting.com:
1) has the same terms os usage as *****
-compare http://greenlighthosting.com/tos.html with http://*****.com/?zone=support/terms
2) has the words "*****" all over their features page ( http://greenlighthosting.com/features.html ), which means they either blatantly copied or they're run by the same people
3) uses the same control panel, Monstercontrols
Please tell me it's only paranoia.

Yes. Checked them up and
They are resellers, or at least their server is in the ***** datacenter.

Uh huh. So would it be a bad idea to use their service? I'm very inexperienced in this sort of thing, bear with me. ;)

Uh huh. So would it be a bad idea to use their service? I'm very inexperienced in this sort of thing, bear with me. ;) It's certainly possible that a given reseller will offer service and support better than those of their provider. And most of the complaints about ***** are service-related, so maybe you could argue that a reseller for CI might be a better choice than they are themselves. But... a big part of *****s marketing to resellers is that they offer unbranded support to the resellers' clients, so actually you probably still have to deal with them. And the reseller themselves have to turn to ***** for help. CI also has a reputation (search these forums for specifics) of changing plan specs on resellers with little or no notice, which of course forces the reseller to pass on changes to you. They also have the same restrictive terms on so-called "unlimited" packages.
So, bottom line, there are so many other choices in the hosting world that yes, it's probably not the best idea. That said, I know nothing specific about greenlighthosting.com; I'm only commenting in general about resellers for ***** (and I was one years ago when I was "very inexperienced in this sort of thing").

So true. This is a problem for all resellers, while they might have the best will to help, sometimes they just can't because they get no answers from the actual host.
