Hi,
I am looking for recommendations on server based applications that will permit cusomers to build their own web sites from templates.

Please include personal experiences with these applications if you have any to share.

I have a potential client who has a membership that he would like to offer this capability to.

Hi Stephen,
Thank you for the info.

I have a potential client who has a membership of approximately 100 users. He would like to offer this membership from within his domain the ability to build simple indivdual web pages based on templates via online site building application.

I dont necessarily need it or want it for all my customers. I had a potential client contact me and he wanted to host with me but he says his site has a membership and he would like to offer them the ability to create their own sites or pages from within his hosting directory, via their web browsers, using an application that had templates. I suspect these sites to be "brochure ware" type sites.

Do you know if SiteStudio can be installed so it just runs from a domains directory and creates sites are steup within and operate from this particular domain's directory?

The environment is a shared environment.

Site Studio is a little pricey, $150 minimum to get started with (100 user license, only the users who use it count against you). But it is the best program of this type that I have seen. Play with it for atleast an hour, and try all the options to see what all it can do. Dont know if you can install for one domain only, but you should beable to hide it to people who dont need it, if your control panel does this for you. Otherwise you could write a small script to do it for you. Another option to consider is H-Sphere (same company), which is one of the most complete hosting platforms available, and it includes Site Studio. It will allow you to easily turn on or off this feature, and thus not visible to users who dont need it.

Is SiteStudio Linux only? Can't see anything about Win2K support on their site.
