We would like to quote statistics to some prospective investors. Do you have information on the following, with the 'official quotable source'?

1) Approximately how many people sign up for web hosting each day (how many new, how many switching/renewing)?

2) What is the average price for disk space and bandwidth? Average web hosting package cost?

3) What is the approximate total number of paid (as opposed to free) web sites hosted in the US? In the world?

3) What is the approximate number of web hosting companies?

Any other information you think we would be happy to know.

Thank you.

Hmm, with over 36,000,000 hosted domain names according to netcraft, and Interland (one of the biggest) only hosting 300,000 that means if each host were hosting equal portions there would be at least 120 web hosting "companies". Right?

But I'm guessing around 300,000 web hosting "companies", with more starting each day than the number that crash. That means there is a lot of money to be lost in the web hosting market. Get your share! Start today!
