i have a nice raq4i here.. configured it with php 4.1.1, mod_gzip and image magick...

BUT: it looks like the version of ProFTPD (ProFTPD 1.2.0rc3) does not support the
AllowLogSymlinks on

command...

I always get error 550 if i login (with an anonymous ftp account) when i try to open a directory that is being symlinked into the current dir....

is there any way to install a new version of proFTPD and if yes: HOW :)

You could try this ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com:21/pub/unsupported/raq4/rpms/proftpd-1.2.4-C2.i386.rpm

The RaQ3 version of the RPM works fine for me.

But it says unsupported, so use it at your own risk.
