Hello,

A friend of mine sells domain names at 2$. He is a reseller.
Do you know where we can buy domains at that price as a reseller ?
I think he is at eNom, because he has the eNom API.

Why not buy from him? He's your friend after all. :)

I do buy from him, but I'd like to get them directly with the API and everything.

It's for .com, .net, org

I am sure it must be .info domains only. You can get those for free in many places, and enom currently has a deal where the reseller price is US$1.95

If he is selling .com, .net, .org at $2 then he is losing at least $4.95 a pop before merchant fees and overhead. The cheapest price for eNom is $6.95 with a nice deposit. What he is doing is called "loss leader" when you sell one product way under cost and hope to bring in revenue from other products. GoDaddy, EV1, 1&1, MyValueHost, the list goes on and on. If he is a friend why don't you ask him what is price is? Those extensions cost the registrars $6 plus fees so I know he isn't paying $2 for them.

I presume he offers this price only with other hosting packages or products. e.g. Losing a few in a domain, winning a few extra in a hosting package. Could it be that?

DjMiX

No, it's not like that.
I just baught 100 from him :)
If you guys wanna buy some domains, you can, but it's in French...

Unless there are some other ways in which he could recover the loss, then it sounds rather dodgy to me.
Why dont you provide the site address where you can buy these $2 .com domain names?

DjMiX
01-23-2005, 04:47 AM
Because it's only if you buy them in a big package (eg: 100 domains). That's what I did.

whats the website......???

DjMiX

You can't order them at that price. I am a friend of him, so I can get them at that price.

At $2/domain, I am willing to buy 1000 of them. Let us know the url if possible.

Some said here already what I suspected: The guy is underselling to get people in the door.

Also, I agree that you simply cannot get them for cheaper than the registry fees that the registrar has to pay... that goes for companies worldwide.

Unless of course, the controller of .com (verisign, right?) drops the reg fees.

But unless and until that happens, we're all slaves to the rock bottom price... and that ain't $2.

@DjMiX

Plz list your 100 domain names, may be you have registered TLD (not top level domain but third level domain :) )

If you need to send a list of names to get the price I would not be comfortable. I can only imagine who is on the other side receiving this information.

It looks that, he will get $2 / domain from you in a legitimate way and later he might withdraw some extra money from your cc no.:emlaugh:

I feel that the price is unusual, but how did you find out that it is a scam post?

2.00 domains, not wanting to disclose more specifics about the "special". The whole thing does not smell right.

Hi!

I think you should also know this that it is not possible without combining it with any other offer. And also several people are asking for url or other information but he's not telling. Then either this is a scam or he's just trying to get fame.

I suggest that moderator should lock this thread immediatly.

Thanks!

hmmm seems a scam , 98% sure it is, the guy stopped posting when people asked for links.... Probably just trying to lure people in. Or maybe its like the pyramid scheme lol, you just have to pay $2 and wait to move up to get you domain

It seems fishy, but what are they trying to get out of it? Outside of boasting about something that does not exist.
