There are some hosting companies that offer a Reseller Account, where the reseller pays a monthly fee and pays additional fee for the resold account. There is also hosts that offer a Reseller Package, where you pay a montly fee for a package with a certain amount of space, bw, domains to be hosted under the reseller account, meaning that everything is shared on this Reseller Package.
Well what I want to know is which type of account would you use? and why would you use it?
Please inform me so that I can make a decision of what type of service I should persue.
Thanks for your help
I am not a reseller, but I plan on being one in May, hopefully. Personally, I think the advantage of a reseller package is the ability to host multiple domains. I'm not going into reselling to make a profit. I want to host like 5-6 domains and the reseller package is more cost-effective than buying 5-6 different hosting packages.
As for the reseller account, the advantage I see is that "you buy as you need them." I'm no webhosting guru, but if I were to offer plans from a reseller package to my web-savvy friends, the first thing they're going to ask is, "Why so little bandwidth?" These days people are kind of expecting 5-10GB with every hosting package. With the reseller account, you can offer that. Also you don't have to worry about doing any math, like dividing 1000MB and 15GB as with the reseller package.
I hope I haven't confused you with my ramblings! :D

Thanks for your comments.
I think that I'm begining to see the difference now. Like you say, people expect lots of bandwidth for their sites.
Thanks again.

ChoGuMa,
A Reseller Package as you describe is very good if you think you can get a lot of small usage sites. You can loose some flexibility as some of your account grow larger because you will be assigned a limited amount of server resources.
To make your plans look attractive you will have to do what is normally called over subscribing where you promise more service then may be available in your plan. It is risky and if people take you up on your offer you will have to be prepared to make good on your promise which will mean purchasing more resources from you provider.
The basic Reseller Plans are nice because you basically buy what you need when you need it and each account is a fixed price. That is how I got started and I still prefer that direction because for me it is easier to plan the future of each account.
Good Luck!
