I was just viewing the code of sites placed top on google. I found this one www.bluehost.com for "php hosting". I viewed their code and i found this:

<div name="php-hosting" style="position:absolute; left:-2000; top:20">
php hosting is right for you. Come here for all your php hosting needs. Frontpage hosting will work for you. Come here all
your php web hosting need.
</div>

You think someone could get higher ranking if they had "come here" in their site? lol

Interesting........
I am no search engine expert but it might work.
What did you search for?

The internet version of “Subliminal Messaging” :D

I have a strange urge to open up an account with bluehost now...

"php hosting", as i said. Note that this div is hidden, see the position. It's definately part of some seo technique, but i dont know the text is kinda retarted style lol.

"php hosting is right for you"
"frontpage hosting will work for you"

This sounds more like hypnotizing lol

Heh... the things people will do for a high search engine ranking! I wonder what Google's representatives would think about that piece of code. ;)

U think we should report it? Well to be honest i dont think it's anything serious, unless the spider likes the sites that say "come here" lol.

COME HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (i just gave WHT +1 PR) :emlaugh:

Well to be honest i dont think it's anything serious, unless the spider likes the sites that say "come here" lol.For me and you it's not really serious, but for their "php hosting" competitors on the search engines, I'm sure it is. ;)

We try posting embedded wav files in our pages that play at +30KHz.. above the range a human ear can hear. They have a sexy sounding female voice enticing visitors to buy our hosting accounts. We are hoping a human brain still picks up the high frequency sounds on some subconcious level...

JUST KIDDING!!! ;) (After all, they don't design speakers to play sounds that humans can't hear anyway)

That's what they want you to think.

<meta content="..." name="description" />
Thats a good format of meta tags

<meta content="no more than 15 words" name="keywords" />
<meta content="index,follow" name="robots" />
<meta content="..." name="rating" />
<meta content="never" name="expire" />
<meta content="14 days" name="revisit-after" />

of course the bot they will not revisit your site after 14 days

I see these messages a lot in many popular sites. I think they put these phrases randomly. :)

Well "php hosting" and "frontpage hosting" doesnt seem very random to me...

Why would anyone put random phrases in the meta tags? Anyway these dudes are cheating. From tomorrow im going to put subliminal messages in my website too. Maybe messages with very small text, or with color slightly different from the background. And im gonna write "come here if you have money", "spending money is right for you" lol
