Has anyone here installed/configured plesk and modernbill to work together? If so, any caveats, tips, experiences etc you'd like to share?

Thanks.

I believe the ModernBill team is working on something to integrate Plesk/ModernBill. If you have a copy of ModernBill, i think the best way is to ask them :)

It's on the to-do list, but unfortunately cpanel people seem to be outnumbering plesk there, so they're gonna do cpanel first. As much as it pains me to say it, I doubt we will see plesk integration for several months.

As an aside... how about integrating OpenSRS with either?

Thanks.

OpenSRS is also on the to-do list for modernbill. That one should be completed fairly soon. As for plesk, they have integrated with register.com, several people have asked them to make it so that you can choose the registrar, so who knows if it will happen or not. Personally, I'd rather see it in modernbill, to keep all billing in one place.

Hey there is good old MB now.. :)

Well i think MB should also be more focused on billing side as well. I think i was the first to talk to them about Plesk and CPanel as i thought it would be a great idea.. But from doing AutoSetups for over 6 months with anther system the fraud will go sky high trust me on this one.. We even went as far as setting up anther AuthNet account to kick out no matches on all cards no help still very high..

Me i will never use an AutoSetup again with out a que of some kind like billadmin had.. You need to be able to look at the accounts and approve them all..

I know the Plesk and CPanel are kind of simple to work in to the billing system and should be nice add-ons..

But from using MB for some time now i have to say on a scale of 1 to 10 taking in what else is other made just for web hosts. MB has to get a 9.

I only say i 9 as just some things bug me in there that just don't work they way i think they should or could speed things up but i kind of deal with them.. :)

I use to think this was very cool and helped is sales.. You have no idea how wrong i was... We spent close $10,000 in charge backs in less then 6 months.. This is only in fees not counting the money we lost from losing the sale as well..

Just some thing to think about on these auto setups.. I know there is a few here that will say the same thing as well.. :)

This post may give some ideas.. I talked them about 6 months ago about this idea http://www.modernbill.com/board/viewthread.php?FID=4&TID=74

You will see this was around the time i thought it may be good. Since then i have 100% changed my mind on this idea.. BAD BAD BAD IDEA.. Try it and see.. ;)

I use moderbill as well, but i process all transaction manually right now and have not configured authorize.net into it yet. Is it not true that you can cancel out the transactions before you run the batch?? Wouldnt you have to turn off the authorize before accepting the transaction?

I totally agree with you vortech. I would not use any system that setup accounts with no human interaction. In plesk integration, I would like to see a queue setup. Basically the system would work the smae way it is now, but after an account is setup in MB, it would notify the admin, the admin goes into MB, reviews the order, and hits an approval button, which would then setup the account in PSA. Anything other than this is just a bad idea.

I agree also, auto-setups at this point in time are fruitless in my opinion. The queue is the way to go.

Any integrations we do with server control panels will be via a queue system. :)

It would not be hard to bypass the queue if certain criteria about the order was met, but by default, the new order will stay pending in the queue for the admin to verify.

Thanks Vortech! :)
