View Full Version : The WORST host $$$ can buy!

Right now I am a member of the worst web service i have had yet, from BizHosting (www.bizhosting.com). It all started when my partner and I wanted to start an online business. We looked around had a few choices in front of us, then we stumbled across biz hosting. They was going to give us, the hosting, the merchant account (ended up being nothing much more then a paypal account), what we thought at the time good web space, and nice transfer. Even html templates which was a big plus since we didnt know html very well. All with the value plan. Once we got signed up. we was fronted with the fact that we had to add in each product one by one (which is a real pain when you have 200+ products) unless we upgraded to the Pro Plan so all we had to do it upload it. So we shelled out more money to be able to upload our products. Now that we upgraded to the Pro Plan we get "Priority technical support, email answered within 2hrs if sent between 7am to 6pm PST (Mon-Fri) anytime after it is answered by 8:00 AM PST next business day, and even phone support from 7am to 6pm PST (Mon-Fri) with a response within 5 minutes."

Well either someone there cant tell time, or someone there has their head up so far where the sun doesnt shine it isnt funny. My 1st problem happened when I first emailed them, when i used THEIR product upload spreadsheet template to add my products. The upload only allowed 50 products at a time or 100 products with an email telling me if it went ok. Well i try 100, no matter what i do it will NOT take it, error everytime stating it needs to be 50, so i split it into two files, with 50 lines, again an error no matter what i try. So i cut the file down to 49 products. It take it!!! Thank god, so i upload my products 49 at a time. All's well, or so i thought. I soon start getting orders and emails about why a product is not available, so i look at a few of my products. All of which are marked unavailable at this time. EVEN though i marked it in the spreadsheet as available. By this time im pretty well mad. I email the people, 3-4 days later i get a reply (what happened to the 2hr turn around or 8am the next day???) asking me to send them a copy of my spreadsheet for them to look over. Well its been 2 business days now, and not a word. I even asked why they are being marked as unavailable. So today i call them, and have tried to call them every 30mins for the last 3 hours. Well guess what...nothing, no one must be home. So now i am stuck with a plan that forces me to go back and change every last product one by one just to make them saleable. Doing the same as i would be with the value plan but for more money. So now the way i see it, im out $300+ for hosting that isnt worth a dime.

I am now looking for anyway outta this plan, that way im not out of all of the $300+ spent on this. At the same time looking for some place, that offers about the same services they claim to offer.

If anyone knows of a place that offers about the same service please let me know, if anyone is even thinking about joining these people, please take my advice and steer far far away from these people.

Perhaps you should consider a chargeback on your credit card?

Isnt that the same as refusing to pay for it? Which i thought would be illegal to do so, we have already been using this host for a month, two at the max.

So....

If they didn't provide the service they promised, you are not expected to pay for it. That's why chargebacks exist. But first try to get a refund from them (if you didn't - haven't read your whole post ;) ). If they refuse, CHARGE BAAAAAAAAAAAAACK time.

I went to your site, and see your problem. That is sad the way they are treating you also. You paid or something and you are defanately not getting what was promissed.

You need someone that is dependable, and has the support actually there to make sure your site is on line like it should be. That is their job, and what you paid for.

At this point, if you can't talk to them on the phone, you really should go to your card company and do a chargeback. if the host is like this to all their customers, they are used to getting chargebacks.

Good luck with this. I hope you get your money back with no hassles.

Not a chance you have a suggestion either, right?

Do they have any Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Use Agreement. I mean most medium-large hosts out there have 30 day money back guarantees and have refunds of the remaining contract if you prepaid after using their services for more than a month.

I guess you should check next time. Nevertheless what you pay is what you get, especially if you plan to make money off the Internet with ecommerce.

Well, of course I would suggest my company, but in this forum, he needs users to recommend hosts. The mods would delete a hosts post in this forum saying Hey.. host here...

it isn't what this forum is about.
Those go in the hosting requests forum.

I was mearly saying that as a host, I know he is not being treated right. He is not getting what he paid for, and he should look for another host, and get a refund. I would expect no less if I treated my customers that way.

Make sure to take care of this as quickly as possible. I know of several credit card companies that have a time limit as to how long you have to do chargebacks. Someone I know has a Capital One Visa and after two-three months of fighting with Best Buy to take a defective product back, they decided on the chargeback. Capital One declined it stating that they waited too long. Even though they were fighting with Best Buy since the second day of owning the defective product.

Good luck either way...

Yes i have read the Agreement, and it says there is no refund on paid accounts. Once i pay, then im tuff outta luck. I am how ever going to try the chargeback, i would like to at least recover most of the money if not all.

superiorhost - If you would like to recomment a hosting company or anyone else, i have created a new topic in the Web Hosting Requests forum.

Thanks for all the help guys,
