We are looking to open an account with openSRS, and were just wondering what package other members of this forum opted to purchase (The Quickstart Program, or the Full Access Program)? We handle our own billing, so we don't need OpenSRS to provide that for us? Also, is there a timeframe when the domains must be registered? Finally, will the clients that we have, have full control over their domains, DNS, etc.. so if they wanted to change anything, we as the host would not need to do anything?

Thanks in advance for any help.

First, OpenSRS does not have a billing system. You pay them for your domains, your clients pay you, you figure out a way to accept payments. The only difference between the full and quickstart (aside from cost), is the quickstart qives you a website to use to process your domains. The full implementation, you get a bunch of perl scripts, and integrate them into your site however you wish.

You will have a client interface to manage domains, and your client can manage their domain through any OpenSRS reseller, plus directly from opensrs.org. So no, you would not need to do anything to manage their domains.

Dan-
Thanks for your reply. I must have misread the openSRS website, as it says Our intent is that RSPs move as quickly as possible to the FullAccess system to take advantage of such features as:
fully automated domain registrations (including billing, credit card and payment capture, etc.)

So I figured that they have billing capability which is something that we don't need, since we have our own merchant account, and handle the billing for everything ourselves.

I think they're lying. The only thing they have for billing, is a form field for the credit card, which does not actually do anything with it once it's entered. At any rate, if you are serious about selling domains, you want the full access not the quickstart.
