Can I just comment on the LeaseWeb service.

I signed up with them at the end of December and since then the network has been rock solid (it is tested every 5 minutes and has had one outage in all that time - possibly when they were setting up the port graph as the rest of their network was not down).

They are very professional in their approach and their bandwidth is excellent. For the price you really can't beat their service and speed.

I will be taking more servers and bandwidth in the coming months without any question!

Very happy, thanks LeaseWeb :)

How much does a additional 1GB RAM cost?

I know these are unmanaged servers but what about support if we need it? What is the pricing for support work?

Hi There

I have a client who's interested in one of these boxes.

Is the 7 day test period still valid?

Danny

1. 10Mbps (Flatfee) Volume means around 2 x (Up and Down)2500-3000GB datatraffic per month.
2. E-mails are answered a.s.a.p. Did you mail to info@leaseweb.com
3. 1GB extra costs Euro19/mth extra.
Support costs Euro24,75 / 15min.
4. Test period is not valid anymore. You as a customer must already be familiar with the services.

Thx.

Yep also working now 4 months with these people and VERY happy with them..
only problem i have got was this week a small downtime because they upgraded their cisco routers in the datacentre...

first time in 4 months that i used their support e mail adress and even than i got a prompt answer that it would be solved in minutes, which it did.....

thumbs up for these guys... upgrading my server as we speak.. :D

You say 'Term: 3 months', we need to pay 3 months in ADVANCE?

LeaseWeb
01-19-2005, 07:11 AM
1. We indeed upgraded to Cisco 12400 series (in SBP) in order to be ready for 10GE. We will upgrade in our other datacenter (TC2) to 12400 in the next couple of weeks.
2. Term: 3 months. Prepayment; 1 month. In other words, you may pay per 1 month (in advance) , but have to take the server for 3 months.

Give us some info about your network.
Providers?
Mbit/Gbit with each one?
Exchanges? like AMS-IX any other?

Thanks

How do you decide where to place customer's server at? I see that you have a few DCs. FYI, my tests to SBP is significantly faster than to TC2. Thanks.

LeaseWeb
01-19-2005, 02:32 PM
Default is SBP.
Both networks are 99% similar and equally good.

Wow, very nice network. These servers are in the Netherlands?

Getting 500 Kb/s and faster, and I'm in Canada.

LeaseWeb

Leaseweb really are fantastic.

I ordered a server back in November and have been very very happy with it. I called and requested another 10mbits of bandwidth in December and it was delivered in about 5 minutes!!!! Now thats what I call quick.

Our server has never crashed, and has lost connectivity only once for a spell of about 5 minutes. Speeds within europe are absolutely fantastic to all directions. Speeds to USA/CA/Americas isnt the greatest. But I have found this to be the case with all european datacentres, and vice versa.

If you want a fantastic server with top notch bandwidth. Then choose leaseweb.

I heard about a ddos protected network located in the same network. You have servers there? Give us info plz

What is your question exactly?

We are testing various DDoS guards next month.

Regarding the inclusive 10Mbps - is this a capped port that we can then pay to increase the limit on, or do you bill for overage on 95th or something similar?

LeaseWeb
01-21-2005, 11:02 AM
The capped port indeed can be increased. This is normally done within 24hrs.

Extra Bandwidth (Flatfee) Volume

5Mbps extra: Euro 50,00 / month
10Mbps extra: Euro 100,00 / month
20Mbps extra: Euro 200,00 / month
30Mbps extra: Euro 300,00 / month
50Mbps extra: Euro 500,00 / month
90Mbps extra: Euro 900,00 / month (FE)

myusername

So is the bandwidth capped at 10 Mbps or busrtable to something higher? Do you charge for kernel updates?

LeaseWeb
01-21-2005, 02:07 PM
1. The port is capped. So with 10Mbps (Flatfee) you cannot use 11Mbps.
2. Servers are unmanaged. Support like kernel updates is charged (Euro24,75 / 15min).

ThinIce
01-21-2005, 03:05 PM
Is there any control panel to review bandwidth usage / do reboots should they be required?

If not how much is a reboot, Eur24.75? and do you have any plans to offer reboot automation in the future?

myusername
01-21-2005, 03:20 PM
They have the standard control panels, most offer bandwidth usage tracking.

APC means remote reboot port.

Ah yeah, sorry was looking at the conditions at the bottom of the ad

LeaseWeb

1. We have a Self Service Center (SSC) in which you can see the realtime stats of your uplink. You can also setup reverse DNS, look into invoices, etc. Please contact me on info@leaseweb.com if you want screenshots.
2. Reboot can be done via the APC. Otherwise via support (Euro24,75 / 15min).

By the way, can i ask if its your own datacenter? You do collocation?

LeaseWeb
01-22-2005, 08:47 AM
1. We do not own a datacenter. We do have our own suite / cages in various datacenters; total 1000+ m2.
2. We do offer colocation. Contact met for a quote.

Received the TOS and AUP via email. Thanks. Couple of other questions

1. What flavours of Linux are you prepared to install?
2. Could you point me to a price list that will be relevant when the offer finishes as I may want extra servers in the future should the first one perform favourably - but of course will need an idea of how good this initial offer is ;)
3. My trace from Pipex in the UK to TC2 is very good. However my trace to SBP initially takes the same route but then times out - this is of concern to me and i'd be grateful for your thoughts on it (probably something about configuration of 83.149.66.1 (test.sbp.leaseweb.net) but I'd rather be safe than sorry :emlaugh: )

TIA

LeaseWeb

1. Any version you want. We recommend Debian or CentOS.
2. Our new (EN) website will be launched soon. Our offers will be there to stay. You may always order your same config/server at same pricing.
3. Always send tracerts & extended pings. Please forward them to info@leaseweb.com . Datacenters have exactly same connections, but prefs might differ.
