I have a client who is looking for a script (cgi or php) to run image galleries. They will have several thousand images on the site. Ideally, the script will take the full size image and auto generate thumbnails, create thumbnail pages (with header & footer) and then link to the full size image (with header & footer).

I have looked at hotscripts and cgi-resources but my head explodes trying to figure out which is best for this application. Oh yeah.... client wants it free (or damn near).

Any suggestions on scripts you have seen/used that work well?

I have used imagefolio. It is real cool and if you can run imagemajik on your server they have an ad on script to do your tumbnailing. It is a template style cgi script so you can make mods to templates.

Supports SSI, slide show and more. Thumbs up
