Be sure you choose a good quality wholesaler for your dialup ports.

Learn to operate software like Cistron, and be able to patch to add features which your wholesaler may require.

Well, that's about all I know, since I just manage the backend.

Oh, yeah... I hope you enjoy the lack of sleep, if you're going to be the admin. :) Because, downtime, always happens at night. And, when a wholesaler tells you to make a change by a deadline, you're almost certain to have atleast one problem.
