I just ordered a dedicate server 1 week ago. Since it started working 3 days ago, the server either hang up or reboot itself every few hours in random time. Sometimes I can ping the server but cant SSH into the server. Can someone suggest any reason this can be happening so i could ask my provider to check up those things.

First thing which comes into my mind is a bad and/or corrupted HD.
Check also your memory, fan or maybe the power supply.
I had the same before and it was a bad HD. :(
How to check HDD corrupt or not.

HI!
The software corruption can be checked with the fsck command.
However, I feel this is more of a hardware problem... Mostly the fan or the RAM...
Have a great day :)

It's possible that the server gets to hot...
I had this with a defect "power-fan"... (a home backup computer)
Specially in the summer... weird... LoL

Run a memory test programm to check your RAM, this is also why my freeBSD server started rebooting every time :(.
