We are a UK based web development company. We currently resell shared hosting and many of our hosted accounts are those that have been bundled as part of a design / development package.

We are considering a dedicated server now as we need more control for the deployment of home grown components and web server extensions. We also aim to push hosting a lot more in the coming months with a view to building up a decent client base on that side of things.

Following is a rough idea of the kind of spec / features we are seeking:

Pentium III 1GHz processor (minimum)
512 Mb RAM (minimum)
30 Gb HDD (minimum)
30 Gb bandwidth transfer p/m (minimum)
Pre-installed Win2k Advanced Server would be nice

Bearing in mind the price differences between here and the US we may consider an overseas provider. However, I would prefer to stick with a UK company because it is much easier to go and see them if the need arises!

Any recommendations, suggestions and / or general advice gratefully received. I am rather hoping that somebody will bring to our attention a decent provider who does not charge silly amounts of money! (Like so many over here do)

Thanks Matt. I have actually seen the site before. Unfortunately they only appear to offer Linux servers. We are looking for Win2k.

Drop them an email - they've provided me with some very competitive quotes in the past.

I'm not sure about anything other than their shared hosting services, but they have 24/7 telephone support and their Win2K servers start from £199/month...
