I just signed up with Gearhost a couple days ago. I moved my website there and so far, the speeds have been great! I love the control panel so far also. NO complaints at all yet. They seem like a great host. I just have one small problem, and it is probably my fault some how. I uploaded my index.htm page, and most people seem to see it just fine when they go to my domain name. But a couple have said that a download box pops up? Anyone know why this could be? Also, I uploaded some pictures to my account, and when I post them in a forum, alot of people can not see the pictures, just a red X. I uploaded everything to the www directory too. Any ideas whats wrong? I am probably just overlooking something.

These have nothing to do with Gearhost. They have to do with you. Why don't you contact them and ask for support?

Is it just me or do both posts above seem contradictory to themselves?
Umbilly is right, they are most likely cause by you... If you actually gave us the website we could help you maybe fix the problem.

I have sent them an email, but just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced similair problems, so maybe I could get an answer tonight. Oh well, sorry I asked.

The broken images sound either like you mis-typed the url's when posting or maybe they have an .htaccess with rewrite so images cannot be displayed on other servers but their own.

Which is cool so no one can hot link your images. But usually the .htaccess is done by yourself though. Although some free hosts do this on all accounts to save their bandwidth.

The popup window is strange.. if you didn't add that to your html page. That is odd...

Post your results later as I'm considering Gearhost and appreciate any info regarding their servers etc.

Good luck
