Oftentimes, software looks better in the press release than it does in actuality (Microsoft operating systems come to mind...). Why is this so?? Well there are many reasons. Once a chunk of software hits the streets, it is judged by its performance in the real world, as opposed to the spin-oriented sound-byte world of marketing. Your comment about plesk is a point well-taken. If a software product looks as good in real usage as it does "on paper', that indicates several things (all good, IMHO): [list=1] the product has a good development process the product has a good quality assurance process the marketing of the product is not based upon hype [/list=1] If plesk lives up to its pre-release billing, then that is a very excellent attribute of plesk! |
