Anyone know of a place offering the same cheap $99/month raq type server that rackshack has but offers WHM/Cpanel instead of that plask and ensim which i hate?

BurstNET™ ( http://www.burst.net/servers/ ) has a 400MHz with at $99 per month. Though it's only a 400MHz with 128MB ram and a 6GB hdd and 10GB bandwidth.

But you will not find a CPanel dedicated server with alot of bandwidth, a powerful processor and a lot of RAM for $99 as CPanel itself is $99.95 per month (unless you buy in bulk and/or is a distributor like BurstNET, Powersurge, LiquidWeb, etc).

Why don't you install CPanel on a RackShack server? :)

You can't do this - RackShack won't let you.

Oh, i definitely need at least 20 GB space and 50 gig transfer though. You guys think there is maybe a place that offers that but with WHM/Cpanel?

I doubt it for $99 per month... If you're willing to spend about double that, you probably can get what you're looking for.

There are plenty of providers, but bear in mind that most companies have to pay more to get Cpanel - Burst probably get the best price out of all the companies, because the developer works for them.

I have a stupid question: If i have a raq from rackshack....that doesn`t come with plesk or ensim....the server just comes with a default raq control panel right? So i wouldn`t be able to create accounts, subdomains, domain alias and give my customers their own indidual control panel for their sites and all that stuff with the rag contro panel?

yes, you can do all that with the raq cp...

about the sub-domain part you can have a look at, http://shadm.hostmentor.com

Cool thanks. How come everyone says a raq is the easiest server to use? Is it because of the raq control panel.....it`s easier to use then the plesk or ensim?

Mainly because out of the box you can start hosting with them. Just plug it into a power outlet hook up the backbone and away you go. The CP that is built in is functional for most hosting needs, however it does have it's flaws just like all the others.

Would seriously try to go after a Cpanel solution, best IMHO compared to Plesk, Ensim and Cobaly. But it will cost ya, alot. Think Plesk is used alot for financial reason's, as its price is relitivly low compared to other CP's.

uh, why is this?

i have a plain rh 7.2 rackshack server

you're telling me i can't install cpanel/whm on it? Why?

Or how about another control panel

Infact, how about my own control panel that i made (just pretend)

Yes clocker, you can do this... We've done it with a plan redhat 7.2 server, and you surely could do the same. Just buy a license from powersurge.net/cp or other cpanel distributor.

dude
of course you can do that
i was just saying
i find it odd that he says you can't
so i wantedto see his reasons

When I first considered doing it (before RackShack offered a plain redhat server) everyone insisted it 'required physical access' to take Ensim off and put Cpanel on... Luckily the plain systems came out before I tried, haha! :D

Yes you can do anything you want with a server from RS.. load Cpanel or whatever. Ensim can be removed remotely and Cpanel installed. Although it's not a walk in the park, we've done it many times.

This is an old thread. They didn't offer plain Red Hat servers back then, which might be what confused him.

Maybe but never has RS said you can't install another control panel on your own server that you lease from them, even before their Plain RH offerings.

Yeah, I know. :)

Anyway, since time has passed, BurstNET launched NOCSTER, which is probably the cheapest Cpanel server you'll find for now.
