I need to switch hosts fast. I'm looking for the following:
-Root access
-At least two IP's
-20GB storage
-Own servernames
-Plesk (Can't use Cpanel, we are locked into Plesk for now...)
-RH/Fedora
-Backups
-raid 5 would be nice
I've narrowed it down to:
PowerVPS
Rackforce
Servint
Are there any others to consider? Has anyone had issues with the above hosts?
I'm looking for reliability and dependable backups, not the lowest cost provider.
Thanks!!!

Thanks but VPScolo offers only Cpanel, not Plesk. Please correct me if i'm wrong. We have too much invested in Plesk at this point to switch.
I like the new feature that VSPcolo has for any VPS plan -- you can backup to the west cost server (ftp) the amount equal to your free space. very cool!!!

Yes you forgot VPSColo.com (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=357345) but I don't think they offer Plesk :(
Given your choices I'd choose ServInt.net

The people at ServInt are like server doctors, they are excellent in fixing any problem you may have. I highly recommend them.

I can recommend Servint. I've had a VPS with them for about three months, and no complaints so far. Tech support is excellent.

Hello,
I am not sure re Plesk, but I would recommend Defender Hosting. We use some of their services and they are simply top-notch in all areas.
Good luck w/ your search!

Defender hosting is the same company as PowerVPS. Does anyone know the difference, because the price and offering structures are very different.
Defenderhosting costs more per GB of storage than PowerVPS. Compared to PowerVPS, Defender has:
*more bandwidth per GB
*more IP's standard
*better backup???
*higher end servers - different RAID???
*extra charge for Plesk and other add ons the PowerVPS includes for no add'l charge.
I'm just speculating on some of the above. Has this been discussed in previous posts? If so I couldn't find it.
