Hello!

I have web hosting website. Currently i only accept payments through PayPal or Ikobo which some people don't like to use at all.

Is there any merchant account which has low fees ?

Thanks!

Are you looking for a direct merchant account or third party?

With a Merchant Account you will have lower fees and your own descriptor. It's also more profitable for bigger business.

With 3.party processing you have high fees, and your customers will not idenify your website on there cc statement. This solution is normaly for smaller business.

ccavenue.com works in India.

A Third Party merchant account provider is an independent processor, contracted with by a bank or processor to manage some part of the transaction processing process, that will accept credit card payments on behalf of you or your company. They owns merchant accounts with the additional rights enabling them to accept credit card orders on behalf of other companies. Some third party merchant account providers are: 2Chekcout, Paypal, WorldPay, PaySystems, Clickbank and others.

There are main Advantages of Third Party Merchant Accounts:

-Good on low sales. If your sales are low Third Party merchant accounts are good while starting your online business because you do not need to pay for expensive processing software, monthly fees, statement fees and other fixed fees that you will have to pay even if you don't sell anything. In most cases you pay only a percentage of sales and, in some cases, a per-transaction fee (more about merchant account fees...).

-Fast to start. Many Third Party merchant account service providers allow you to accept credit cards online within minutes.

Common Disadvantages of Third Party Merchant Accounts:

-Third party as a payment processor. The one point is that customers need to leave your site to make a purchase of your products and that third party will list their logo on your payment page. The second point is that their name will be included on your customers credit card statements. This may result in more charge backs, lost sales, and fees because making customers more difficult to remember what the charge is for.

-Shared privacy. You are dependent on other party for your businesses and share your sales information with them.

-High cost for high sales. Third Party merchant accounts cost more the more sales you make because the discount rate charged by traditional merchant account providers is lower than the percentage of sales charged by third parties. The higher sales you make, the larger amount you will pay relatively to the traditional merchant account due to it's lower discount rate.

Typical fees are:
-Setup fee.
-Discount rate.
-Transaction fee.

Tapan,

Are you awre that CCAvenue 's discount rate is 7%, and wire transfer is only USD 10.00? And CCAvenue provides Verified by Visa to reduce chargeback feature?

But CcAvenue holds 5% reserve up to 180 days. CcAvenue's RS 7,500 is billed annually; whereas 2CO's USD 45 is one time set-up fee.

There are pros and cons on both 2CO and Ccavenue, it is all depending what are you looking at.

By simply looking at the set up fee is not the good way to
choose a right 3rd party credit card processor.

To Pottery,
Yes you can make unlimited depends how many people signup using your referral.

To Cavalry,
Yes you are right, but speding Rs. 7500 every year and then paying commissions is too much for me. If i give my all earnings to CCAvenue then its not a good point. Where as 2Checkout is more preferred than CCAvenue.

Also i must tell by which i see business ..it is: that in today's business you're not making any profit when you're selling your're product/service in the market...but if your purchase is good then that's only your true saving. The more you save on purchase the more your savings are. But that's my point of view.

Thanks!

To Tapan: in this case I'll do it immediately.
I've read on ikobo's page that they will give us 10$ +5% recurring revenue for every referral? This means that we get the 10$ immediately after our referral signs up or what ?

Hi Pottery,
I referred 2-3 people who really signed up using my referral but i never got any commission! :( But i have not even tried to contact ikobo in this regard. So don't know much about it. But i will try this soon. I am also going to do the same for paypal. You get $5 when someone signup's using your referral.

To, Cavalry,
Let me check :-)

Thanks!

Tapan,

I am not recommending ccavenue, transactindia, and abcpayemnts to you as I am not using them. In other word,
I do not know them well.

I just let you have more options to thnk them over, because I know you are from India.

Good luck!

The $5 refer-a-friend program is no longer available from the US PayPal site. (I don't know about other countries, but make sure that the referral program information was posted on a PayPal page. There are still many websites promising the old referral bonus that has not been offered for a long time now.)
