Just out of curiosity, how many hosting companies here are located in Arizona?

Glendale, AZ? Have you ever been to a Circle K? (It's a general store.)
My uncle owns a bunch of Circle K General Stores in and around Glendale.

(sorry for getting off-topic)

I've been creating a hosting company for the past 2 weeks, making sure everything is perfect before I open to the public.

Our offices are located in Tucson, Arizona ;)

By the way, this forum is amazing - lots of good advice.

I did all my pilot training in Chandler AZ :) nice, but way to hot, cant understand why Jag moved from Alaska :P

We try go down there at least once a year to visit friends that now live in Mesa.

Its actually bareable in the winter time, which that seems the time when everyone in Alaska seems to go down

I did training in the middle of july a few times....man that was unbareable, never again will I go to Arizona durning that time of the year.

What about the heat? Isn't Phoenix hot?

Seems like whenever the news comes on during the summer, they say "Glad we're not in Phoenix right now..." ;)

I live in Tempe, Arizona, but I'm not a web host :( It's only hot if you go outside!

Spring Training is here! Before you know it the D-Backs will be out trying to defend their world championship! I'll be going to my usual 50 games this year.

I live in glendale, arizona and I know weinbar is located here. There are also a couple smaller companies including http://www.az-web.com/. I don't know if anyone is thinking about it but something that I think would be great is a datacenter here. The closest datacenter that I can think of that is rather large would probably be in the LA area.

Well, WeinBar (http://www.weinbar.com) is located in Scottsdale,AZ with our datacenter in downtown Phoenix, AZ.

As far as the heat goes.. well, I would rather be in Phoenix in the summer when it's 115 then in New York when its 90 and 100% humid. Absolutely no comparison. Now, take the winters.. a bit cool today at 68, but by the weekend it will be in the 80's.

Phoenix is great for our business because there are tons of small-medium companies. These are the targets that hosting companies thrive on.

Oh, cool, I didn't know you had your own datacenter. Thanks for the info weinbar!

Ah, but people don't realize that Phoenix isn't the only place AZ has to offer. I live in the mountains at 7000 feet in Flagstaff, AZ. We get around 100 inches of snow in town on the average. Double that for the ski area. Unfortunately, no snow to speak of this year :( . But it was 7 degrees farenheit last night.

After going through there and stopping in, I had a desire to move there. Nice trees, though mostly a closed in college town with train tracks running through (if I remember correctly). Kind of a small town feel, where everyone is local. I still live here in Cali anyhow, heh...

Hey i live in arizona, its not all that bad...if you like......doing nothing? Yah and its hot, and theres not much water around to keep cool, cept for the occasional pool or manmade lake. Course now i go to school up in the northern part of arizona. People are really suprised but its cold as hell up here, normally we have a couple decent ski slopes, but this season has totaly sucked. So yah, there are some cool things about AZ...come here during monsoon season, or to see an arizona sunset just after a monsoon shower ::drools:: thats beautiful! Anyways...

also i may be looking for a host thats based in arizona or near flagstaff....probably gonna go with ipowerweb tho for starters until my site starts getting 10million hits a day wich i expect it to within a couple months of course.

Hi,

In July my girlfriend and I are doind a West Coast tour. Starting in San Francisco, out through Yosemite to Mammoth, then through Death Valley to Las Vegas, then to the Grand Canyon, then down to Scottsdale, and then back to LA via Lake Havasu.

Been to Arizona a few times before, we love the south part Sonora Desert, Tombstone and all that!!

Bring on July.
