Four of my sites have migrated recently from Interliant to Interland. Interliant was not an outstanding host any way, but Interland is simply horrible! All of my scripts stopped functioning, technical support sucks completely, and two weeks of calling them on a daily basis had no outcome whatsoever. I need to host a new site, and Interland is definitely not a choice. I am using a lot of PHP4, perl, C/C++, and shell scripting, need ftp and telnet access, but small space (about 100 MB) and not a lot of traffic. Could anyone recommend a host? I was told www.olm.net is good, but I am not sure.
Thanks.

I use Hosting Matters and they are simply sensational.
The service is top notch and the system reliability has been great!

I'd recommend you to checkout http://www.hostsave.com for your hosting need, they have been in business for more than 4 years. Very reliable. My website never has any problems, and it's affordable at around $8/mo.
I also have my website hosted at XO (formerly Concentric), but they cost too much, for the same price per month at XO, I could have my website up for 3 months at hostsave.com

I am currently with hostsave.com. The reason I came to this board is that I am looking for a new host.
The hostsave IP (207.150.192.12) that is assigned to my domain has been blocked by spews.org because another hostsave.com web site (www.howtocopydvds.com) using the same IP is a blatant spammer. It appears that hostsave has refused to deal with the spammer, thus the SPEW. The block means I have not been able to acces my mail or website.
After finding out about the block, I took a look at hostsave's terms of service. The only mention they make of spam is that "thou shalt not spam the hostsave staff."
No matter how good a host is, if they condone or tolerate spammers, I want no part of them.

Just a note though, spews works a little strange, you have to drop off, even if you closed the account for the spammer. They will get around to retesting the IP address but in their own time, they told me 14 days or some such rubbish.
I personally detest spammers, but I am not a big fan of blackholing lists as usually they are maintained by $#$Q$#'s.
Yes we have been blocked by spews before for an x-client.
