Please refer to http://www.webhostingtalk.com/misc.php?s=&action=forum-rules .

That should explain it.

I am not sure it is because of that, because I had the same problem yesterday in the morning, but it worked in the evening and now it isn't working,
And, lastly I am a user, I didn't put up any ad what so ever.
Is there any way of find out exactly whay I was banned if that is the case?

**Claps** Members must make five (5) posts before utilizing the PM and system e-mail features.

Hold on a sec.

To begin with, the rules clearly state

Members must make five (5) posts before utilizing the PM and system e-mail features.

So that should answer that question.

But now you are asking why you were banned? So that means you were banned, and then proceeded to register a new account?

Members are permitted a maximum of one account per person, regardless of how many companies you represent. If you choose to ignore this important restriction, all your accounts will be disabled.

So you had an account, and you were banned, but re-registered?

Say goodbye. You will be gone soon... :wavey:

I think he just means banned from the PM feature, vito.

Seems he had posted in a thread that was removed and then counters were updated. So, while he could use PMs, the feature was removed after the posts were removed.

It works different for me, but if you search for posts by this member (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?s=&action=finduser&userid=35171), you'll likely see that he has more than the five displayed now. :)

Ah, cool. I see now.

Sorry, masudali, for misunderstanding and jumping down your throat.

This has to be the most asked question at WHT. ;)

It seems unfair to me, that if a member has made five valid posts, that if a thread is deleted, their access to the pm and other features is removed.

After all, it's not their fault if other members hijack the thread, causing it to be deleted, and, as in this case, can lead to confusion and panic amongst a member who has his pm rights removed (albeit briefly) through no fault of his/her own.

I guess it's simplier this way, though.

Well if someone responds to spam thread and bingo! he/she now has 5 posts and can PM, we aren't about to leave the spam in place for someone who may or may not want to send a PM.
