View Full Version : Customizable control panel wanted
I am interested in setting up a server with the server administration in English but the site administration panels and user panels in Japanese. The translation is no big deal, I just need control panels that are customizable.
bdraco 12-05-2000, 06:56 AM You could either look into cpanel.net or vdi.net for a skinable/multi language control panel. However I'm probably a bit partial because I am the lead programmer :-) I don't know if anybody else offers multiple lang support, but you could look into alabanza.

I had a brief look at CPanel3 and WebHost Mgr. I need to study them more but I assume that WebHost Mgr is for administration of the server and CPanel3 is for site users, correct?
Can I get a license for them to use on a dedicated server or must it be co-location?
Do these come in other languages or do you mean that you can skin them with a language of your linking? How are these installed? For example, the html files that I would want to customze are just FTP'd, correct?
bdraco 12-06-2000, 01:20 AM Cpanel makes use of translation files for its internal responses. /usr/local/cpanel/lang/<lanaguagefile>. As for the html, all you would have to do is create it in whatever language you need, and put the <cpanel> tags in the right places. It can be installed on any new redhat 6.2 machine. redhat 7.0, mandrake 7.1,7.2 should work as well, however most people are using redhat 6.2.
bdraco 12-06-2000, 01:39 AM Ron: if you didn't get my email, please send me your email address to bdraco@bdraco.org so I can send you something outside of the board. I tried to send you a mail via this board, but I don't think it worked.
sitesdepot 12-28-2000, 12:00 PM We are using H-sphere (by psoft.net), we tranlated it to hebrew- and it's realy cool :-)
cbaker17 12-28-2000, 12:36 PM I was not the least bit impressed with hsphere

Why not ?
Can you tell me a little about how you translated it? Did you just change the buttons or did you change everything? I would like to be able to even change error messages and other stuff that ordinarily pops up in English. I don't want to change the server administration, just the stuff the clients would use. Anything you could tell me would be appreciated.
sitesdepot 12-29-2000, 09:03 AM Hi,
There are templates there - so you can change them, including text, images etc...
If you are in need to change error messages ( we didn't change them) you have to edit the perl scripts.
Since h-sphere comes with it source code- you are able to change anything you want...
When you purchased a license for H-Sphere, did it come with an instruction manual? I couldn't find anything downloadable on their site. Do you have a .[df file on it you could email me at kb@gol.com?
I had a demo of HSphere installed on one of my FreeBSD machines at home here and it seemed pretty good. It has some development left before I would consider it good though.
Of course, at least it is easier to use then Plesk, that program has a horrid design to it. (Of course, that's simply my humble opinion on it)
