View Full Version : Cannot access namecheap.com this morning?
dyinginavan 01-10-2005, 07:14 AM Hey guys, I'm trying to access namecheap and have been since about 9am this morning, it's only just 11:14am now and it's not a major problem, but I just wondered if anyone else is having problems?
I just get a popup with "namecheap.com cannot be found"
I'm using Firefox 1.0, had no problems accessing on Friday from here [work] or from home over the weekend.
GeorgeC 01-10-2005, 07:22 AM Just fyi, no problems loading Namecheap.com right now for me nor the past few days.
dyinginavan 01-10-2005, 07:56 AM Thanks for your input GeorgeC, still haven't resolved my issue and am still working on it. Anyone else having any problems? Or is just me, sob.

At first, it looked like it wasn't going to load for me, but then it finally kicked in. The site does seem slower than usual. Where are you located? (if you don't mind me asking).

The U.K, South East London to be more specific. Was fine yesterday, I still can't access - it's now 12:38pm. It just keeps timing out, says namecheap.com cannot be found, try again later.
GeorgeC 01-10-2005, 08:50 AM Actually, getting a "Server Not found" error now as well when accessing Namecheap. Got a "service unavailable" custom error the first time, now it's down fully. So it looks like they're having problems indeed.
enetwork 01-10-2005, 09:26 AM Are any of you still having issues with this? We have tested the site from several different locations and the site comes up fine(and fast). Please let me know if that is the case.
We do apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.
CD Burnt 01-10-2005, 09:31 AM works fine for me. (at my usual dialup loading speed ;) )
GeorgeC 01-10-2005, 10:04 AM Works for me now as well. :)
dyinginavan 01-10-2005, 10:04 AM Hey guys, still here. 2:06pm and still no go. I'm using 100mps broadband, problems only started this morning. At least the site is up for some locations/users which is promising :)

That's very strange as we've literally tested this from across the globe with no problems. Anyone else in the UK having any issues with this?
cippalippa 01-10-2005, 11:36 AM Actually I've been unable to access namecheap.com since yesterday, that's Sunday. And still are: domain name resolves but have no reply from server.
I live in Switzerland
Kalina 01-10-2005, 12:21 PM It works great for me, I just registered a domain with them yesterday, everything went quick and smooth, as usual.
Sorry to hear you're not having any luck with it. :(

RossH 01-10-2005, 04:50 PM Namecheap gives me a warm fuzy feeling inside, my girlfriend is jealous.
dyinginavan 01-11-2005, 05:42 AM Moi aussi, usually. Alas, I'm frustrated because the second day of not being able to access the site. Same problems. I'm paranoid because I transfered a domain in on Friday and I believe it was going to take 72 hours to propogate and it should have done so by now. It shouldn't have knackered the site though, sob.
Maybe namecheap don't like me, hee.
enetwork 01-11-2005, 08:37 AM Dyingnavan,
Quite honestly, this might sound simple but have you tried clearing your cache? It's either that or something inbetween you and us. We do not purposely block anyone from accessing our site like some other companies so it cannot be that.
In the meantime, if you want us to make any changes to your domain for you can email us and we will take care of it for you.

Thank you for responding. I've tried a variety of different things on my machine, clearing my cache, clearing my temporary internet files and cookies etc. and I just cannot understand the problem as yet. I'm quite happy to accept it's specific to me and my machine if nobody else is reporting furthermore problems. I shall continue trying.
Can you confirm the support e-mail for namecheap is support@namecheap.com? Thank you for your kind assistance. I just wanted to check up on the status of my transfer and will e-mail immediately.
enetwork 01-11-2005, 08:51 AM Yes, support@namecheap.com is our email address.

Richard, I have been trying that email and noone has gotten back to me. I cannot log into my account because it says it has been locked until 2099 because someone tried to illegally access my account and reached the maximum of failed log in attempts.
