How do webots like spiders from search engines and affiliate programs like cj.com affect the bandwidth/data usage of a web site?

Search Engine Webots:
Obviously the go through the website checking pages, how many do they add to the data usuage? Is each page they go through like viewing a page?

Affilate PGMs:
They probalbly send webots to see if banners are active? Do they affect bandwidth/data-usage? If yes, how much?

Perhaps use as an example 1 banner per page which is 100k in size including html, pictures and banners.

What do you think?

Sure they do.

I have one site where nearly 20% of the bandwidth goes to search engine support.

It's a fact of being listed in all the search engines on the planet I'm afraid.

It does, but it should be already counted in your web data transfer amount. It does consume a LOT of system resources however. :).
