Well on thursday I got it. I read about it in the December issue of time magazine(might of been novembers, but I read it in december), at any rate is was the first time I read the entire magazine because of the enron thing going on and I just cought myself reading it all. At one point I read an artice on a new satalite radio. I forgot about it for awhile until I saw the comercial. At any rate, its not cheap(lowest package at a store is about 300 plus tax and after rebates). Its also ten dollars a month, which is sortive a pain, but not too bad. It has over 100 channels of all types of music that is catagorized. Any how I love this thing, I got the one so I could just plug it into the tape deck. A few channels have commercials, but you get about 15 songs per comercial break. One out of the 5 stations I listen to has commercials. Havent had a chance to test it in michigan, but there should be no static with it. Also you get the same channels every where which I love. If you got the 300 and can afford 10 a month, I recomend you get this. www.xmradio.com

Im going to get this once i buy my new SUV. I travel alot and the only thing that keeps me from running off the road is talk radio (oddly enough) so this should be a godsend as its impossible to pick up AM in the boonys...
I'm staying in SE Asia right now and I want one... would it work over here? (esp interested in the talk radio) Chances are no cause searched for them since ages ago... but ring me if it's a yes :D

Saw these things in a mag myself a while ago and thought it was a great idea. TV is something I can watch almost anything on without too much complaint. Cable is better of course (more choice)
Radio on the other hand is something I'be hardly listened to in years for it's poor selection - 'cable' styled radio would be right up there on my shopping list :)

It does sound very interesting... I wonder how well it will take off though. I'm thinking about getting it, but I kind of wonder is it really worth it.

It all depends, if you drive a lot, it is nice to have. When ever I go to Michigan, at the same point my radio always goes out, and im stuck with a few channels. If you do not spend a whole lot of time in the car, its not really worth it. Also there is a home version of it.

I'll wait until the price (hopefully) drops. I can settle for internet radio since I don't really go anywhere, though it would be nice to just have a regular radio I can listen to without making use of my connection. :) Right now I only pick up a couple english stations, one fuzzy orchestra station, one oldies station, one fuzzy new age music station and then about 20 mexican stations.

I'll probably end up waiting on the price to drop too. I don't really mind the $10 per month, but to pay $300 is a bit much for what it is in my opinion.
