i was about to signup for acunett.com when someone told me that they are rackshack resellers. and i dont want to go with rackshack for a particular reason. i have narrowed down my choices to these after going through about 20 reseller companies:

acunett.com ( i like their bandwidth)
mchost.com (great support)
*****.com (seems like a good provider)

any opinions? i want to be sure not to go wrong.

Aigditto,
The following is just what I have observed on WHT or heard from others, not direct hosting experience, so don't put too much stock in it, but:

acunett.com ( i like their bandwidth) - You might read this thread, and judge for yourself:

mchost.com (great support) - From everything I have heard, they are a good company with good support.

*****.com (seems like a good provider) - This company has a fairly bad reputation from what I have seen on WHT, you might search the forms to find out some more about specific experiences and complaints.

Good luck,

DK

hey there,
well out of that list, the first one I would recommend that you forget about is *****.......there are many threads around here that will confirm that.........

acunett.com I know nothing about............and MCHOST are very good........and I dont think you will go wrong with them.......

have you also looked at splashhost.com and datahosts

If you do a network lookup on acunett.com (try this (http://www.hexillion.com/utilities/DomainDossier.vbs.asp?addr=acunett.com&net_whois=true&go.x=25&go.y=13)) you'll see their server is with Everyone's Internet, which is Rackshack. That doesn't make them Rackshack resellers per se, it just means they have at least one dedicated server there. I don't know what your reason is for wanting to avoid Rackshack, but if you like otherwise like AcuNett you may wish to contact them and see if they have servers in another data center.

There's plenty of information on both MCHost and ***** on this board; just do a search and you'll find plenty of reading material. :)

Reselling is when you buy a set hosting package at discount, add support, and charge a higher price. If they've got a dedicated server with Rackshack, they aren't resellers -- in fact the vast majority of hosts don't run their own data centers but rather simply have dedicated or colocated servers somewhere else.

Stay as far away as you can from *****. They are the bane of the earth as far as I'm concerned. They actually deleted my website off they're servers because I was exceeding bandwidth. Not cool.
