I was surfing and ran accross ehostingbiz.com and asked for a price on a dedicated server with 2 1.4 gig mhz processors and 512 MB ram with a 50 gig drive and 100gig transfer. I was just wanting to see what they would say to that. Well they are telling me $250/mn and a $99 setup fee. This has got to be to good to be true...
What you all think?

You know, we all like a good bargin, but that *does* sound a bit cheap. I don't think it is impossible, but really very, very cheap.
Truthfully, if you'd have told me about a place offering $99 servers with no setup fee and 100 Gb of transfer a month, I'd say that was too cheap as well. So...

are you binded to some long term contract?
If not, this is cheaper than any dedicated server I've ever seen of that power. although it does lack some RAM compaired to the processor speed (dual 1.4 ghz is VERY expensive, btw)

The only person making x86 1.4 ghz cpus right now is intel. The lowest price I've seen for a single p4 cpu @ 1.4ghz is $760. I don't even think there are an motherboards that do SMP for the pentium 4 chips out yet. The single chip boards are around $250 alone. I can't think of anyway this biz model would work. I can only think that this is an outright lie or they are using non x86 hardware which is also very expensive.

What was it that someone mentioned about the savvis.net (good/bad)? I don't have much info on it either way.

That configuration their offering you is imposible, while there are pentium 4 cpus out there areno motherboards to support them....
