I have an Asus A7V133 motherboard and the fan that resides directly on the motherboard (not the processor) is going bad. Right now I am sitting here listening to this winding noise going faster, slower, faster, slower... On the fan itself, there is a label with an "ARX" on it. I've searched everywhere on the Internet and I can find anything on if these small fans are replaceable. If so, where are they even available? The fan plugs into the motherboard and appears to be replaceable. Does anyone here know of where to obtain one of these fans? I've included a link to Asus' site where it shows the board I have. In the middle is the fan...

...Thanks for any assistance you may be able to provide.

I've seen fans like those at Radio Shack and Best Buy, infact I have a few of them in my computer. See my theory is that if I can't have the "coolest" looking, or fastest computer around, I can have the "coolest" sounding, not to mention the coolest. This thing almost sounds like a jet taking off when I turn it on thanks to all 6 fans that I have in it. Now if only Dell installed Motherboard sensors so I could actually see how cool it is inside my tower.

That makes sense. I will check those places, thanks.

I have seven fans in my PC and this is the only one I hear. Mostly because it is going bad. It has been making this noise for the past couple of weeks and my motherboard temperature never tops 95 degrees. I'd say the rest of the fans are doing pretty good at their jobs...:D
