Hi, has anyone used Webvicinity.net? I am looking for a cheap host for around 5 dollars a month. Any other suggestions?

Below $10 Host @ http://www.below10host.com has some very nice plans around $5/month, as does Tera-Byte @ http://www.tera-byte.com

Thanks BC, I've decided to go with Webvicinity, they offer more resources than below10host.

And if such things matter to you, you might also be concerned about the number of broken links (for example, the "order" link from the home page is mispelled) or the fact that clients.html seems to state that it's a list of all their clients and contains only one url -- that of a web designer with six sites in the portfolio, but three of the six are broken links.

Well, they say they are a new company so I suppose such things are to be expected. And yet, already someone has found them and also happened to have found this forum and ask about them in his first post. Quelle coincidence!

First of all, thats the webdesigner's site. It has nothing to do with me. JayC, if you want to host bash me when I'm not even launched... Do so..

(Now come on, thank me for pointing out that broken "order" link! And Nam for pointing out that you had no page titles! :))

Let's all relax a bit. Synergy, take the pointers and fix the couple of links and you'll be all set.

Especially a special thanks to JayC for his pointer on the order.html which was oder.html.

Thank you all!

Well...the prices seem reasonable and it seems like you're genuinely out to give your customers a good deal on the surface. However, you really should clean up that site somewhat before you go out and do some heavy duty promotion.

For example...

On your home page, "archive" is spelled wrong.
On your contact page, "International" is spelled wrong.
The text and background don't provide a very sharp contrast, making the text difficult to read.
It's not a good idea to only list that you have one client. I know you're new, but still, it makes you look like something less than...well, a pro.

Now that I'm done ripping your efforts to shreds, I will wish you the best of luck. I mean it. I hope you grow while remembering the basic fundamental rule of business: the customer (or potential customer) is always right.

Thanks, I think I'm getting a webdesigner to make the site instead of me.... I'm new to the WYSIWYG Dreamweaver..

One thing I'll add (complete tangent), is that we all are very excited about putting sites up, but it never hurts to throw a post in the Website Reviews section just to see what people think. You can read a page 60 times and miss the same spelling error and get some *very* critical, but helpful and honest advice about your site. The point is to make your site the best that it can be, and I've never seen a site go *into* the Reviews forum, and come *out* worse :)
