Hello,

I'm looking for this in a hosting package:

1) Atleast 350 MB space
2) Atleast 10 gigs transfer / month
3) I have 6 domains; I need 1 static IP and the other 5 can be Ip'less but they need seperate cg-bin's and html directories.
4) Atleast 5 mySql databases
5) Unix server with usual options, cron jobs, backups, etc.

I am considering these hosts, please let me know if you have had any experience with them:

1) 2GlobalMart: http://www.2globalmart.com/multiple-domain-hosting/unix-hosting.html ($3.- p/gig overages)

2) Alitia Hosting: http://www.aletiahosting.com/hosting/ ($8.- p/gig overages)

3) EZ Host.biz: http://www.ezhost.biz/home/ezhost/host_unix.htm - basic plan (but they have $20 / per gig overages *ouch!!!*)

Has anyone experienced these companies and how their servers handle a search engine cgi script?

And / or can you recommend anyone who can match what I need in my specs and a reasonable rate?

Thanks for the replies!

try these guys: www.below10host.com (http://www.below10host.com)

They may not have the greatest website design, but their service is excellent. I have been with them since august of last year and have had no issues since, customer service is great, quick to respond to all questions. I would suggest you design your own plan.

Ventures Online is good also, was looking to switch to them when I was planning on reselling, only cause they offer better reselling plans.

Aletiahosting is good, and I'm currently hosted with them, I've never had any downtime...rather I've never noticed any, and their cpanel mod is quite cool.

Other hosts to consider:
http://www.f5hosting.com/
http://www.tera-byte.com/ - Cobalt Raq3 shared hosting
http://www.myacen.com/ - requires administrator to make cron jobs, but very cheap prices
http://www.infodoma.com/

I always have a list of hosts to recommend stored in my head. :D

There's also www.myqth.com , but they're playing the numbers game with a rackshack, and I wouldn't be surprised if they only last a few more months.

I'd suggest before ever going to the host, to call them up. You can get any or all questions off your chest from the ones who know, and will give you a good idea of their support. Also don't be afraid of the search feature :)

2globalmart is HORRIBLE. You'll have somewhere around 85% uptime from my calculations. (My site and my client's sites have been screwed up so many times in the past couple of months...) And they like to accuse their customers of not knowing what they're doing. (They told me a .CFM file couldn't be a ColdFusion custom tag!!! I think I would know more about that than they would, huh?)

smackmagic, send them all an email asking a straightforward question, e.g extra BW, support issues et.c

semd all the emails at the same time and sit back and time the responses

that's a good start

SmackMagic: Try coming up with some more hosts to choose from. You seem to be concerned with overage beyond 10 gig. What is your budget?
