It is for folks who already own the server and want to put it online.

Demand is weak, for sure! :)

1. Bandwith is provided by cogent right? Any backups at all?
2. Fully burstable?
3. How long will this offer be on?
Thanks

$50 Cross-connect to Level3 if interested.
1.) Sorry for being a newbie still, but can you explain this?

No monthly commitment.
2.) So no contract at all? If we sign up at this price, will it be increased later? How long is the price good for if someone signs up with you.

3.) Any network uptime gaurantees?

4.) Any pictures of your NOC?

Imagine being able to pay $25/mo/server with 256 kbps per server dedicated?!?

I take it you have to send in all 4u at once? (You can't have one 1u server now and send in another in 3 months?)

You can send in other servers as you like. We have no reason to expect to raise prices. It is supply and demand. As we raise prices, we lose clients. It's safe to say that as long as Cogent is in town we'll not change prices whatsoever.

Can you explain the Level3 Cross connect. Without that, is it Cogent only with no backup in case cogent is down?

Drew,

Do you offer 1/4 rack?

drewnick

We do offer 1/4 rack. If Cogent goes down there is no backup. As a side note, Cogent has been terribly reliable so far.

A cross-connect is the physical transport between you and another network. The building is "on-net" with a lot of the main carriers, including Level3. Basically you buy transit from them and we cross-connect you.

OK, I think I almost understand.

1: is that $50/month for the cross connect?

2: does the cross-connect mean that you would have level3 and cogent, or just one or the other? How would I control how traffic was routed (over the cheapest, or would it just be for a fail over?)

3: Again, I don't know much, yet. But is there any possibility that you could also do a cross-connect with another cheap bandwidth provider to provide redundancy fail over but at a cheaper price than whatever it would cost to get a sufficient level3 connection?

Some questions:

1) How much is additional bandwidth (beyond the 330 GB)?
2) Can we co-locate 2 2U's for the price of $99?
3) Will we have 24/7 access to the facility, in case we need to replace server parts or to do other adjustments? If so, is there a place in the facility that will enable us to hook the server up to a monitor, in case we need to add or reinstall software?
4) How much are additional IP's?
5) Do you accept credit cards (not paypal)?

Thanks....

Okay...

#1 - The cross-connect fee to Level3 is $50/mo. You'll need to contact a sales rep there to buy bandwidth from them.

#2 - You can put 2 2U servers in the space, or 4 1U, or 1 4U. :-)

#3 - Access to the facility is 24x7 with escort.

#4 - Bandwidth over the 1 Mbps average is $100/Meg.

Would you offer the 4U deal on your UUNET/AT&T connection with only 30 GB of bandwidth?

I'm looking to co-locate at least 2 4U's with you. However, I need one of them on a non-cogent connection.

Just curious, do you provide up to 4 ports on your switch and 4 power plugs, or is that extra to really host 4 1u cases?

We will supply one Ethernet, but you can add a switch and split it out to four ports if you like. We do allow for four power cords. Each cabinet has dual 20A circuits with 20 plugs on each side... or 40 plugs.

4U locking spaces on cabinets? Bjkinc has these on some of their cabinets or you added them after?

drewnick

They are full locking cabinets; the space is not individually partitioned.

How many IP's are included, and how much are additional IP's? Do you accept credit cards (not paypal)?
